Relationship between Coaching and Consulting

I receive many questions on the distinctions between Consulting, Coaching and Therapy. There is an illustration from a Harvard Business Review article ("What Can Coaches Do for You?" by Diane Coutu and Carol Kauffman, HBR Jan 2009) that outlines the touch points between these fields.

These questions reflect our intuitive understanding of how interconnected our personal and professional lives are.

It takes an enormous amount of energy to compartmentalize aspects of our lives as a "professional" self separate from a "personal" self. Instead, when we can align and integrate ourselves with genuine intention and authenticity, that energy is released and we have a tremendous capacity to bring our whole selves to our life and to be re-energized and fulfilled in the process.
